2016 Love-A-Thon: Enchanted to Meet You!

Itʻs time for the 2016 Love-A-Thon hosted by Alexa (Alexa Loves Books), Cee (The Novel Hermit), Hazel (Stay Bookish), and Mel (The Daily Prophecy). The Love-A-Thon is all about making new friends and showing our fellow bookworms of the interwebs a little bit of love. It spans across a bunch of different paltforms--the blogosphere, twitter, bookstagram, and booktube--and there are loads of different activities to help everyone get to know each other, win some prizes, and have some fun! Sounds awesome, right? Link ups are still open, but hurry because they close later on today.

I am super excited because this is my first time joining in on the Love-A-Thon! This weekend, I will be posting here on my blog, on twitter, and on instagram! I canʻt wait to get to know more people across all of these platforms, so please, please talk to me (do I sound desperate yet? lol). Iʻm not sure how often Iʻll be posting because, ya know, life with a 7-month-old is unpredictable...but Iʻll be trying really hard! Letʻs kick this off with a little Get to Know You Questionnaire.

All About Me!

Whatʻs your name? My name is Tasia. Itʻs pronounced Asia with a T.
Where in the world are you blogging from? Iʻm from the Aloha State aka Hawaii aka "Paradise".
How did you get into blogging in the first place? Iʻve had a regular blog for as long as I can remember (like when a "blog" was a thing on Xanga...haha) but I could never keep up with one consistently. I even had a book blog a few years ago that didnʻt go anywhere. When I started this blog to kinda keep tabs on how my daughter was growing and all the events in our family lives, I decided to also start blogging about books (my true passion) all in one place and now weʻre here!
How did you come up with your blog name? Itʻs a mixture of my dogʻs name (Lady) and my daughterʻs name (herʻs is the ʻLiʻ part...sorry, I donʻt share her full name on the blog!)
What genre do you read and review the most on your blog? Contemporary YA/NA, YA Fantasy, and YA Historical Fiction mostly
What other types of posts do you do on your blog, apart from reviews? I do weekly memes (Top 10 Tuesday, Bookish & Not-So-Bookish Thoughts), Family, and lifestyle posts.
Best blogging experience so far? Getting to know people from all over the world and being able to have a little community of friends who get me and like the things that I like!
Name the 5 books youʻre most excited for this 2016!

Name the 5 books you want to read in 2016 that you didnʻt get to in previous years!

Whatʻs an underrated book series that you think everyone should read? The Nil trilogy by Lynne Matson. Two of the books (Nil and Nil Unlocked) are out right now with the third expected to be released in May!
Which book boy or girl would be your book boyfriend/girlfriend? KHALID from The Wrath and the Dawn...but thatʻs probably just because heʻs my current obsession.
Who would you recruit for your apocalypse squad (5 characters max)? Shahrzad (The Wrath and the Dawn), Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles), Perry (Under the Never Sky), Baz (Carry On), and Hermione (Harry Potter)
Apart from reading, what are your other hobbies or interests? I like doing arts and crafts of all kind...my favorites are painting, sewing, and knitting. I also love hanging out with my kid (Iʻm a stay at home mom), writing, journaling, and taking long, warm baths to relax...when I have time.
Apart from book shopping, what else do you like shopping for? Journals & Notebooks, mostly. Also little girl clothes & toys. And all things Disney!

  1. Nice to meet you, Tasia! I'm currently working on the Throne of Glass series and I'm loving it so much. I'm on book 3. It's worth the time to read it!

    1. I hear itʻs amazing and I really canʻt wait to read it. I keep telling myself that Iʻll read it after whatever book Iʻm reading currently, but I never end up picking it up...and I own the first book! So many books, so little time, right?

      Thank you for stopping by!

  2. I totally understand your Khalid obsession. I also fell deeply in love with him and I can't wait to read more about him in The Rose and the Dagger. He must get a happy ending with Shazi, I won't accept anything else! :D
And your blog is so pretty! Love love love it. ♥

    1. Thank you! And thank you for stopping by :D

I will probably 100% cry if Shazi and Khalid donʻt get their happy ending....I just believe in it so much! Mostly, I just donʻt want my sweet Khalid to get hurt lol.

  3. Aloha, Tasia! I'm currently listening to The Wrath and the Dawn on audio and I'm not getting into it as much as I like. The plot is good but I'm just not feeling it.

    Can't wait for Heartless, too!

    1. The first time I attempted TWaTD, I stopped a few chapters in. It is a little slow toward the beginning and even in the middle, but once all the action started I could not put the book down!

      Thank you for stopping by!

  4. You guys are SO adorable! And I really liked hearing about how you came up with your blog name - that's really creative. I definitely recommend reading The Book Thief (it is seriously incredible) and Throne of Glass (obsessed with this series)! Hope you enjoy, and happy Love-a-Thon!

    1. Awww thank you!

The Book Thief is number 2 on my TBR list (after Glass Sword) for books to read once Iʻm done reading all of my library books (just 2.5 more to go!). Iʻm hoping to read Throne of Glass soon after that, too. Why must there always be so many books to read?! Haha

      Thank you for stopping by!
